Merit Scholarships

This scholarship is awarded to students demonstrating academic excellence in the IGCSE / O-level examinations. Depending on the level of merit, the school offers concessions on tuition and registration fees.

In order to maintain this scholarship, awardees must maintain a minimum of 80% in all monthly assessments and, in send-up and mock examinations. Criteria and percentage of registration and tuition fee waiver is as follows:

Parliamentary Debates Scholarship

Headstart School offers four partial non-academic scholarships to students enrolled in its A-level debate program. The scholarship is awarded to students who excel in the program offering a 25% waiver on monthly tuition fees. The scholarship is valid for the months running between August and March of each academic year.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Enrollment in debate program
  • Maintain a minimum monthly attendance of 85%
  • Be available to compete on the Under 19 National Debate circuit for Headstart School

Najib Murtaza Scholarship

The Najib Murtaza scholarship was created in memory of the late NajibMurtaza, a founding member and former director of Headstart School. Students fulfilling the minimum criteria for eligibility are required to write an essay on a given topic, later read by Mrs. Naznin Murtaza, the Principal and founding member of Headstart School. Shortlisted students will be interviewed by the Principal and the selected candidates are awarded a full scholarship for the duration of the two year A-level program.

The scholarship is a gift from the Murtaza family and includes a 100% waiver on tuition and books, and a stipend.
