Headstart School Islamabad presents its most prestigious scholarship. In addition to the regular merit scholarships offered at the senior school, ten new awards have been created in honour of our founder and director Najib Murtaza. His vision and commitment to education live on as his legacy through Headstart School Islamabad.

The scholarships awarded in his name will go to ten outstanding young people who have distinguished themselves through their achievements, academic promise and enthusiasm for learning. The award will cover tuition, books and a stipend. The scholarships come with a badge of privilege to be carried throughtout their time at Headstart.

Final selection for the awards will be based on each candidates grades, interview and an essay: 300 words on “The Life and Work I Dream of”.

Students and parents who are interested in applying should contact the A Level Branch directly.

This year, for the first time, Cambridge International Examinations took charge of publishing the names of distinction holders in the press. This allows readers to see the comparative performance of students from different institutions across Pakistan.

Headstart School Islamabad had 9 distinctions and figured prominently amongst the country’s best schools despite being much newer and having far fewer students than any of the franchise schools who have branches nationwide. For comparison’s sake, even Aitchison (10 distinctions) and Beaconhouse – Margalla Campus (11 distinctions) both have four to five times more students appearing for CIE exams than Headstart, and are also older and more established institutions.

Graphic published in The Express Tribune, February 1, 2011

Headstart does not publish its examination results in newspapers as a matter of policy, and never has. While we are extremely proud of the outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements of our scholars, and do much to laud and honour them, the School will not use student grades as an advertisement. While it is one of the chief aims of our program to help every student achieve the best possible exam results, any presentation about Headstart (published in print or other media) must reflect a more wholesome image of the School’s strengths as an institution.
