Headstart opened twenty years ago with one classroom, a beautifully refurbished garage in the backyard of Al-Murtaza – one of Islamabad’s oldest houses. Just a playgroup at first, Headstart began with one teacher and only enough room to accommodate twelve students.
The strength of our program then was its energy, creativity and the founders’ personal attention to quality. Our goals were modest: to strive for perfection in our work and to have a little fun along the way.
Today, the Headstart family is strong, vibrant, and diverse; we have grown from twelve students to 2000, from two teachers to over 250 faculty and staff, from one room to eight campuses. Our tenth graduating class has just taken their final exams this summer. And although that means our alumni are still very young (all under thirty) we already have a few Wall Street millionaires, Pakistan’s youngest patent holder, award-winning essayists and photographers, surgeons, fashion designers, radio show hosts, first-class cricketers, professional cyclists and then some.
The achievements of our students, faculty and staff are a source of great pride for Headstart. This website is designed as an online bulletin for sharing and celebrating the exciting events, projects and work unfolding at all of our branches all year long. Every day holds a new challenge, school is about exploration, discovery and fun. Carpe Diem!
